A little rain at the end of bloom resulted in low crop level. The resulting intensity shows well in the ripe Bartlett pear and white floral perfume of this vintage. Although the summer was noted for some hot periods, the vines were remarkably resilient as a result of being deeply rooted in fractured basalt. Cooler weather prior to harvest brought balanced acidity. The cuvée is 80% stainless steel, 20% neutral barrel fermented. Classic pinot gris on the palate, with citrus and distinctive minerality on the finish makes this a delicious match with Dungeness crab or salmon.

One lot each of 146 and 152 was slow fermented at low temperature in stainless steel. The remainder of the 152 was fermented in neutral barrels (15% of the blend), aging sur lie to gain body and spice. The stainless steel lots were lightly fined with casein; the barrel lot was not fined.
