2017 Mistake Block Pinot Noir

James Suckling 92 Pts.

"Attractive red cherries and a sleeve of spices that adds complexity for now. The palate has a bright, easygoing feel with good depth of flavor and a ripe, cherry-essence finish. Drink or hold."
-JAMES SUCKLING

Wine Enthusiast 92 Pts.

"The mistake, explains the winery, was made by the nursery, which supplied Pommard instead of the 113 Dijon clone vines that had been ordered. As is often the case, it was a blessing in disguise, and this lovely, toasty wine, bursting with black cherry fruit, is the result. Barrel aging adds baking spices and streaks of espresso and dark chocolate." -PAUL GREGUTT

Description: Our Mistake Block is a slender ten rows. Only four barrels of this silky Pommard made the cut in 2017. A lush, earthy neutral barrel with deep plum and generous mouthfeel joins two new French barrels that add spice and smoke. A final neutral barrel creates a complex balance with beautiful acidity.

Additional vintages available: 2012, 2018
