Tasting Notes, Current Releases

2007 Pinot Noir: From the coldest vintage since the vineyard has been producing (1998), this wine reminds me of the early pinots from Oregon's pioneer winemakers. Lighter in style than the last eight vintages with strawberry notes, black cherry, earthiness and a hint of spice on the nose. Should age well, as the 2001 vintage has. Wonderful with Cornish game hen.$35

2007 10th Anniversary Pinot Gris: Clean, crisp restrained style. Grapefruit and pear aromas, vibrant citrus on the palate with an unusual hint of minerality on the finish. Pairs well with crab and shrimp. Very nice as an aperitif. $16

2007 Chardonnay: Clean, crisp style, mineral on the finish with complex citrus and stone fruit elements. $25.

2005 Pinot Noir
2006 Pinot Noir: Plush, showing an array of dark cherry, blackberry and plum character with soft, mouth-filling tannins. The warmth of the fall contributed to the dark garnet color. The softness of the Pommard and chocolate tannins of the Wadenswil clone round out the cuvee. Excellent with Morroccan lamb stew. $35

2006 Inchinnan Pinot Noir: Dark earth. Velvet fruit. Allspice. The powerful black cherry flavors of Wadenswil define Inchinnan for this vintage. A barrel of Dijon 115 brings a lively spark to the blend. Two barrels of Dijon 114 elevate the cuvee with mushroom and forest floor dimensions. Top rating from "The Prince of Pinot" PinotFile. $54
